As the Browns wrap up their season on Sunday, we look forward to the NFL Draft. What picks will Cleveland have in April?
Like many seasons before, the Cleveland Browns saw their season end without qualifying for the playoffs. Sunday’s 28-14 loss to the Steelers saw the Browns lay an egg, finishing 7-10 on the season. Collectively, we are all frustrated with how this 2022 saga has unfolded, hence why the subject of the NFL Draft.
The Browns have plenty of holes on the roster to fill this offseason, and the draft will allow them to add younger guys and try to develop them into Pro Bowl-caliber players. Andre Berry will have to make decisions on how they want to develop this list further. He hasn’t been so sharp with some of his free agent signings and draft picks, but that’s another discussion for another day.
As of this writing, Cleveland is expected to have eight draft picks, with only one undecided on the exact number of picks, as they will receive a compensatory pick in the third round. due to the Vikings signing Kwesi Adofo-Mensah last January.
Remember, the Browns don’t have a first-round pick as they traded three as part of the deal that brought Deshaun Watson to Cleveland. That’s not necessarily a bad thing as many of the league’s key players were drafted outside of the first 32 draft selections.
There will be tons of drafts by April 27, but one thing is certain; no one is ever right because the repechage is a giant game of chance.
