American football quarterback Tom Brady has retired after 23 seasons in the National Football League (NFL).
Brady announced his retirement on December 31, 2022, but reversed the decision six weeks later, saying he had “unfinished business” according to BBC Sport.
The 45-year-old won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.
However, he made the announcement on Wednesday morning.
“I’m retiring for good,” Brady said in a moving video posted to social media. “I know the process was pretty big last time, so when I woke up this morning I thought I’d press record and let you know first.
” It will not be long. You get a super emotional retreat essay and I used mine last year.
“Thank you so much to each and every one of you for supporting me – my family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors. I could go on and on – there’s just too much.
“Thank you for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I won’t change a thing. I love you all.”
